Chalet Family is a comfortable and cozy family chalet on the edge of the forest. The perfect place to relax together in nature, with space for parents and children. Enjoy peace, privacy and direct access to hiking and biking trails. Inside, the chalet is practically and warmly decorated for a carefree stay. Outside, children can play, and the forest literally starts around the corner. Ideal for quality time with the family, in any season.
The space
Welcome to Chalet Family **open from April 6, 2026**, a wonderfully spacious chalet perfect for families and bon vivants. This six-person accommodation is beautifully situated on the edge of the forest and offers a unique combination of comfort, tranquility, and views of the nearby riding stables. Here you’ll immediately feel at home, surrounded by the Drenthe countryside.
**Please note: a covered veranda will be added at the end of February/beginning of March; it’s not yet pictured**
Cozy and Spacious Living Room
The bright living room is the heart of the chalet. Relax on the comfortable sofa or join the dining table for a leisurely breakfast or a games night. Sleep Well in Three Bedrooms
Chalet Family has three comfortable bedrooms:
Master bedroom with double bed (160×200) and direct access to a private bathroom
Second bedroom with two single beds (80×190)
Third bedroom with a mezzanine bunk bed (80×190)—always a hit with kids! NOTE: The top bunk is suitable for a person weighing up to 80 kg. All beds are equipped with 2 pillows and single duvets.
A baby kit can be booked as an option.
Two Bathrooms for Extra Comfort
No hassle with queues: the chalet has two modern bathrooms.

Enjoy the Outdoors
Outside, you’ll find a spacious veranda spanning the entire width of the chalet. Here you’ll find a comfortable garden table with six chairs.
A unique feature of Chalet Family is the swing seat overlooking the riding arena—a wonderful place to relax, have a cup of coffee, or enjoy the peace and quiet and the view together.

🌿 Escape to nature at Chalet Prestige – Camping De Reeënwissel 🏡
Welcome to Chalet Prestige, located in the peaceful Witte Bergen area of the park. Wake up to birdsong and step straight from the campsite into stunning natural surroundings. Explore vast forests, heathlands and drifting sand areas via beautiful walking trails, cycling routes, mountain bike tracks and bridle paths — perfect for both relaxation and outdoor adventure.
There’s plenty to enjoy on the campsite itself. Rent a bike, relax at the brasserie or visit the FNRS-certified riding school for a lesson. Bringing your own horse? You can rent a stable with paddock facilities. During school holidays, a variety of activities are organised for guests of all ages.
💦 As our guest, you’ll enjoy free access to the outdoor swimming pool next to the campsite (usually open from Ascension Day until around September) — ideal on sunny days!
📍 The location is perfect for day trips: the peat village of Hoogersmilde is just next door, the beautiful Blauwe Meer is only 5 km away, and charming towns like Appelscha, Diever and Dwingeloo are within easy reach.
